Gut-Rehab for Dollar Tree

Originally built in the 1950s as an A&P grocery store, the building at 815 Copley had many uses over the decades.  The last occupant, a charter school, closed over a dozen years ago.  The building fell into great disrepair and became tax delinquent.  In working with Summit County and the City of Akron, CenterMark acquired the building.  Rather than demolish the entire building, CenterMark figured a way to retain roughly 60% of the building and make it suitable for its tenant, Dollar Tree.  Copley Road is a major east-west artery of Akron lined with national and local retailers.  It cuts through a densely-populated residential neighborhood.  Neighboring residents thanked CenterMark for removing the blighted property and introducing a new quality retailer.
