Selective Demolition and Rehabilitation for Dollar Tree

Akron’s Ellet neighborhood has long been a desirable place to live in Summit County.  Along its main artery, East Main Street, a commercial building had sat vacant for over a decade and suffered from neglect.  CenterMark acquired the 18,000+ square foot building, and through selective demolition, reduced the building footprint to an acceptable size for its tenant, Dollar Tree.  The building was originally occupied by a local discounter, Giant Tiger, and later by Revco Drugstores, both of which closed as their chains ceased to exist.  During construction, neighbors routinely would comment  on these past tenants and express their satisfaction that another quality, convenience, discounter was coming to the neighborhood.  CenterMark completed the construction within  six months of acquisition and during the Fall and Winter seasons.
